What is poolhunting?
Like most art projects, it has evolved and changed over time. What started as a seasonal to-do list line item to “visit as many swimming pools as possible” turned into a passion for taking photos of my adventures. As I incorporated the #poolhunting hashtag, my friends started to send me tips on where to find great pools in my local area of Austin, Texas. I was on a mission. Whether invited or if it required some possible undercover investigation techniques, I wanted to take pictures of pools!
Each pool has something unique about it, and that is what makes each visit special. Whether it’s an infinity pool overlooking a beautiful scenery or an empty, abandoned pool used by skateboarders, or dirty pools you would never get into, I’m interested!
If you want to know my idea of a perfect #poolhunting experience, it includes the following elements:
EXCLUSIVITY It can’t be too crowded!
COMFORTABILITY Lounge chairs, preferably with shade canopies
SPECIAL FEATURES Love a special touch such as a fountain or beach entrance
CABANA BOY Preferably with french fries
